CoreSite’s Northern Virginia data center is a 285,000 square-foot facility located at 12100 Sunrise Valley Drive in Reston. The highly secure data center is designed to meet the stringent security requirements of the government and government contractors and includes 50-foot setbacks, internal and external CCTV surveillance and 24x7 on-site security staffing. In addition, the SAS 70 Type II certified data center has biometric scanners at multiple checkpoints prior to gaining access to the data center floor.
CoreSite’s high density data center is powered by redundant Dominion Virginia Power (34.5 kV) feeds from two separate substations. The data center can accommodate nearly 12 megawatts of critical IT load and offers both N+1 and 2N UPS configurations. In addition, the data center features two (2) 20,000-gallon diesel fuel storage tanks, which ensure the continuity of your business.
To compliment the robust security and power infrastructure, CoreSite’s Northern Virginia data center is one of the most connected data center in the Reston and Ashburn areas. The data center is rich with fiber connectivity and is located along the area’s primary fiber routes. More than 15 carriers directly serve the data center and CoreSite manages redundant DWDM fiber capacity to its data center at 1275 K Street in Washington, DC. 1275 K Street is one of the region’s most connected buildings and is served by more than 50 carriers and service providers. CoreSite Northern Virginia also offers access to 100+ networks via Any2 Northeast, CoreSite's distributed Internet exchagne that connects the company's Boston, New York, Northern Virginia, and Washington, DC data centers.
The Reston, Virginia data center features ample parking (over 500 spaces), secure loading and staging areas, storage space for equipment and substantial clear heights for easy delivery at a multi-bay raised loading dock.
